Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a devastating medical condition, which has life-changing consequences on numerous aspects of human functioning and participation. Persons with SCI are confronted with functional difficulties, including motor sensory impairments, bladder and bowel emptying, and respiratory or blood pressure problems, which frequently result in limited activities and participation like mobility, self-care, communication, and domestic life. SCI has been studied in detail in the developed world. But, more than 80 % of the world’s population lives in developing countries, and we know little about SCI from this part of the world.

Moreover, the information about the Quality of Life of Individuals with Paraplegia in developing countries has not been reported extensively. This study attempts to address the issue by highlighting a state (Punjab) from India and intends to fill the knowledge gap. The project is an effort to evaluate the Quality Of Life of individuals with Paraplegia in Punjab via scales for ambulatory status, functional independence, and community reintegration.
